COVID-19: Thank you to our frontline workers
10 Jul, 2020
Under the grip of the novel coronavirus, the entire world is facing an unprecedented crisis. Over the last few months, Covid-19 has stealthily made its way across the globe, affecting millions of people in hundreds of countries. With no vaccine or medicine for it, everyone is vulnerable to this disease. The future is uncertain and undoubtedly frightening. Nonetheless, the heroic efforts of our frontline workers encourage us to be optimistic! Throughout this global pandemic, healthcare professionals and community service providers have been leading the battle from the frontlines. They valiantly risk their personal health and safety, by reporting to work every day. Our frontline workers; doctors, nurses, teachers, policemen, food service workers, transporters, and essential service providers, work hard to keep the economy going. By providing the essential services we need, they keep the rest of us safe. We have been advised to stay indoors and practice social distancing to avoid the virus. Most of us work remotely from the safe confines of our home, till the chaos subsides. By restricting travel and staying away from crowded places, we can minimize our risk of contracting the disease. Nonetheless, the unfamiliarity of Covid-19 has also triggered stress and paranoia in many people. On many occasions, it has unleashed mass hysteria and caused reasonable people to display irrational behavior out of fear. Meanwhile, our noble Covid-19 frontline workers task force relentlessly pursue their responsibilities, putting themselves in the path of the virus every day. Doctors, nurses, and other health workers have been witnessing the struggles and sufferings of sick people every day since this pandemic emerged. Most frontline health workers in Covid-19 treatment centers have seen far more deaths in the last few months than they have ever seen in their careers. Imagine how stressful and emotionally unbearable it can be? Despite the mental toll it takes, they continue to handle their duties diligently and with grace. They work tirelessly to complete their responsibilities. By lending a helping hand in these tough times, they are the epitome of humanity and compassion. Thank you for keeping us safe! Words cannot do justice to express our gratitude to our frontline workers for their noble service. They deserve the highest honor and appreciation for their selfless sacrifice!
